Coffeyville -

Lawrence Thomas “Larry” Morris, 55, of Coffeyville, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK.

He was born November 2, 1954 at Coffeyville to Charles and Bonnie (Miller) Morris. Larry grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1972.

On August 15, 1998 he married Candi Fitzjohn at Coffeyville.  After their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville where Larry worked in the Shipping and Receiving Department at Jensen International for 17 years and later at Amazon until retiring due to his health.

Larry was a member of Living Faith Tabernacle in Coffeyville.  He loved fishing, singing, and especially spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Candi of the home; one daughter, Taylor of the home; his mother and step-father, Bonnie and Gene Despaw of Coffeyville; and three sisters, Kathy Pitts and husband Charles of Coffeyville; Brenda West and husband David of Coffeyville; and Teresa Goodman and husband Mike of Independence.

A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Southview Church of God in South Coffeyville, OK with Pastor Rhebeeda Thornton and Rev. John Lockaby officiating.

Friends may sign the register book on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

The family suggests memorials to an education fund being established for his daughter, Taylor; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.

Cathy, if u get this, I send my condolences to you. I almost didn’t recognize him. sorry to hear this, hope all is well with you, Brenda and Teresa and Bonnie. Breaks my heart that this happened.

I am so sorry for your loss. I pray God will wrap his arms around you and comfort you and give you strength. Candi, you and Taylor are very precious to God.

Candi and Taylor, you are both in my thoughts and prayers. I have some fond memories of your family’s visits with Barb. I was usually entertained by some of the funny things Larry would come up with and some comments he would have. He had a great sense of humor. He will be missed.
