Coffeyville -

M. Dolores Stallings, 80, of Coffeyville passed away Sunday January, 15 2012, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Dolores was born on April 6, 1931 to John Newton “Tom” and Sarah Edna (Moore) Fiddler in Cherryvale, KS. 

Dolores moved with her family to Coffeyville at a young age where she grew up and attended Coffeyville schools and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School. After graduating high school, Dolores continued her education by graduating from Coffeyville Community College. After completing her education Dolores started working for Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, Ok.

On August 29, 1958 Dolores married Vernie Stallings in Miami, Oklahoma. After their  marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Delores worked at First National Bank in Coffeyville for many years at the main bank downtown, and later as manager of the drive in bank at 8th and Buckeye.

Dolores was active in the First United Methodist Church, while in high school she was active in Tornado Tillies, she also was active in organizing her high school class reunions. She also enjoyed reading and traveling.

Survivors include her husband Vernie of the home, one son Douglas of New York City, New York, one sister Jean Morgan of Coffeyville, one niece Melissa Morgan of Coffeyville, one nephew Tony Morgan of Waxahachie, TX and many more nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Memorial Services will held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012, at the First Methodist Church, with John Collins officiating. 

Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

The family Suggest memorials to the First United Methodist Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Fuenral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.

Vernie and Doug, I am so sorry to hear of Delores’s passing. She was always so friendly and pleasant. Take comfort that she is in the arms of Jesus now. I’ll be praying for you as you go through this time of grief and mourning.
