Dorothy Harvey, 87 died Sunday January 15, 2012 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Dorothy was born March 1, 1924 to Homer and Eva (Smith) Roberts in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Dorothy attended Coffeyville schools and graduating from Field Kindley Memorial High School. As a child, she sang with The Sunshine Kids, this was a program put on by KGGF when it was located in South Coffeyville. Dorothy was one of the “3 Dorothy’s” in the group.

Dorothy married Calvin F. “Doby” Harvey Jr., on August 24, 1940 at Lenapah, Oklahoma. Over the years she worked as a meat wrapper at Piggly Wiggly, Karbes, 4th Street Food Center and Elmores.

She loved music and playing her organ. Her family enjoyed her music one last time when she played “Happy Birthday” for her great grandson in October. Dorothy and her sisters enjoyed doing crafts together.  Dorothy belonged to the Church on the Open Door and later the Coffeyville Bible Church.

She is survived by son Richard Harvey and wife Nancy:, Granddaughters Crystal Rutherford and husband Paul, Jennifer Storm and husband Doug, Tami Foster and husband Billy and Stacy Archer and husband David; Great grandchildren, Logan, Emily, and Brody Foster, Colton Storm, Bronson and Jordan Brown and Mason Marsh;  Also one niece and six nephews and lifelong friend, Doris Abshier.

Preceding her in death include her parents, her husband Doby, her son Donald, daughter in law Evva, and sisters Rita Williams, Juanita Green, Cecilia Easky and Wilma Stong.

Graveside Services will at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Restlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

Family suggest memorials made to charity of your choice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.

Richard and Nancy,
So sorry for your loss. May the memories of your Mom help to heal and comfort you. Your in our thoughts and prayers as you go threw this difficult time.
