Charles "Chuck" William Scott III, 45, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at his home. \n\nChuck was born on November 17, 1971 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Charles "Charlie" W. Scott, Jr. and Jackie S. (Conklin) Scott. He grew up in Coffeyville where he attended local schools and graduated in 1990 from Field Kindley High School. Chuck attended the Coffeyville Vo-Tech where he received his certificate in auto body repair. \n\nChuck worked at many places: Dixon Industries, Spears Manufacturing, Rick's Auto Repair, Walmart; a wrecker and salvage service as a mechanic in Wichita, Kansas. He worked at the Outback Hotel and as an up and coming realtor for Keller Williams in Branson, Missouri. The past three years he has worked for Jencast in South Coffeyville. \n\nChuck was a member of the Word of Faith Church in Coffeyville. He went out of his way to help everyone and anyone. He was always committed to doing what he said he would do. He often helped Pastor Gary Close as the sound technician for the church. He would pick out songs for Sunday Services. He was active in the Saturday Night Live and Glory Bound at the church. He participated in designing the Christmas Parade float. At times he would surprise Pastor Gary with all his talents and many capabilities. He enjoyed working on cars, racing cars, demo derbies and had run a push truck at area race tracks. He was also good with computers and technology. He loved the time he spent surrounded by his family, church family and his many friends. There were two very special people in his life he considered a second mom and dad and that was Rick and Carolyn Loffer. Rick preceded him in death. After Rick passed away, Chuck was there for Rick's son Tyrone. He took him under his wing and was a mentor to him; they shared common interests and hobbies with cars and racing. \n\nSurviving to cherish his memory are his parents, Charlie and Jackie Scott, Jr. of Coffeyville, Kansas; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Scott; maternal grandmother, Kathy Conklin both of Coffeyville, Kansas.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles W. Scott, Sr. in 2014 and by his maternal grandfather Jasper "Jack" Conklin in 1988. \n\nFuneral Services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Word of Faith Church in Coffeyville. Pastor Gary Close will officiate. Burial will follow at Robbins Cemetery, west of Coffeyville. \n\nVisitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. Family will greet friends Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. \n\nThe family suggests memorials to the Word of Faith Church in Coffeyville; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed care of David W.
