Elaine Fay Thorn Obituary (1969 - 2017)

Elaine Fay (Duncan) Thorn, 48, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the Cancer Treatment Center of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Elaine was born on March 31, 1969 in Sedan, Kansas to Louis and Betty (Hartgraves) Duncan. She grew up in Elgin, Kansas where she attended local schools. She also attended Coffeyville Community College where she completed several courses. In 1987 she was united in marriage to Jay Thompson. Of that union two children were born, the couple later divorced. Elaine enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, watching television, going to stock car races, watching the Green Bay Packers football games, going to the casino and painting. Most of all she enjoyed the time she spent surrounded by her family. Surviving to honor her memory are her significant other, Brian Okerson of thirteen years; children, Scarlet Rutherford and husband, Tony, Shawn Thompson and wife, Kimberly all of Coffeyville, Kansas; grandchildren, Justice, Caiden and Matthew Rutherford; sisters, Janet Speakman and husband, Dan of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Lynn Jaimes of Tulsa, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Duncan and Betty McIntosh. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Elgin Cemetery in Elgin, Kansas. Friends may call on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
