Kelsy Parsons Obituary (1998 - 2024)

Kelsy Lyn Parsons, age 25, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at CRMC. Kelsy was born on May 12, 1998, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Terry and Kathy (Riley) Parsons. A vibrant and spirited individual, Kelsy was a beloved daughter and sister, an accomplished athlete, and a cherished friend. Her love for life, coupled with her unyielding determination, made her a beacon of strength and resilience that uplifted everyone lucky enough to know her. Kelsy was a formidable force on the softball field, playing for the South Coffeyville Lions, the Oklahoma Union Cougars, and a variety of city rec teams. Her natural talent and dedication were recognized many times over, earning her a spot on several all-star teams. Yet, for Kelsy, the real joy of the game was not in the accolades but in the camaraderie and exhilaration of play. Off the field, Kelsy enjoyed the simple pleasure of watching movies and spending time with loved ones. A lifelong resident of South Coffeyville and Wann area, Kelsy's heart was deeply rooted in her community. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart and cherished every moment she spent surrounded by them. Kelsy faced many obstacles throughout her life, but she always met them head-on with courage and bravery. Her unwavering spirit was an inspiration to all, reminding us that we are stronger than the challenges we face. Kelsy leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and perseverance that will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew her. Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving parents, Terry and Kathy Parsons of Wann, Oklahoma, sister, Jessyka Sue Parsons, brother, Jozy Lee Parsons, uncle, Sidney “Sid” Riley, aunt, Trish Riley-Ardrey, aunt, Christina Murray, uncle, Allen Hawk and wife, Chandee, aunt, Sarah Melissa Mosley, two very special cousins, August and Jaxston Mosley along with many more cousins, extended family and many friends who will forever keep her memory alive. Kelsy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Sonny and Mary Sue Parsons and maternal grandmother, Vickie Sue Hawk. Cremation is to take place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. No public services are scheduled at this time the family wishes to have a private memorial at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Oklahoma. Contributions can be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N.
