Jacob Matthew Morse, 29, of Independence formerly of Coffeyville and Caney passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at Labette Health in Independence.
He was born on January 29, 1990 at Bartlesville, OK to D.J. and Kathy (Hawley) Morse. Jacob spent his younger years in Coffeyville where he attended Edgewood Elementary School and started Roosevelt Middle School. When he was in the 8th grade the family moved to rural Caney where he attended school graduating from Caney Valley High School in 2008. Following high school he attended Coffeyville Community College Welding School.
Jacob loved being outdoors spending time riding motorcycles, 4 wheelers fishing and doing mechanic work. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, always finding a way to make them laugh.
Survivors include his parents, D.J. Morse of Caney, KS and Kathy Morse of Independence, KS; one sister, Lindsay Morse of Kansas City, KS; and his grandparents, Clarence Green of Edna, KS, Lois Leroy of Sedan, KS, and Susan Hawley of McPherson, KS.
A Celebration of Jacob’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Cedar Bluff Camp north of Coffeyville with Pastor Kelly Denison officiating.
The family will greet friends prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Cedar Bluff Camp.
