Jeffrey Matthew "Jeff" Walter, age 52, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at CRMC. Jeff was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Charles and Doris (Foster) Walter. He grew up in Independence, Kansas. Jeff earned his high school education and attended Independence Community College. On July 4, 2013 he married the love of his life, Susan Hargis in Independence, Kansas. The couple made their home in Coffeyville, Kansas where Jeff worked for over 12 years at Windsor Place as a CNA. He loved working with the elderly and caring for the residents. He put his heart into caring for others. Jeff enjoyed fishing, playing games and computers. In addition to his wife, Susan his world revolved around his son, Nicholas. They shared a special bond and spent every moment they could with one another. It was common for the two of them to be watching YouTube videos or shopping on Amazon.com Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife, Susan Walter; son, Nicholas Walter; step son, Juan Andres all of the home; siblings, Ken Walter and wife, Patricia Erickson of Tuscan, Arizona, Warner "Tom" Walter and wife Sharon of Independence, Kansas, Eric Walter and wife, Donna of Independence, Kansas, Lisa Schuler of Pittsburg, Kansas; mother-in-law, Martha Hargis of Coffeyville; brothers-in-law, Michael Marlett and wife, Ruby of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Andrew Marlett and wife, Melissa of Marysville, Michigan, Teressa Hargis (Susan's twin sister) of Coffeyville, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews, extended relatives and close friends. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Agape Fellowship Church in Coffeyville, Kansas. Pastor Kevin O'Connor will officiate. Following the service, cremation will take place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2021 for friends to sign the guest register at David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Coffeyville Friends of Animals; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Rd.
