Obituary of Layton Moore

Layton H. "Skip" Moore, 66, of rural Wann, OK passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at his home.

He was born on November 8, 1951 at West Palm Beach, FL to Harold William and Elizabeth Ann (Moffitt) Moore. Skip grew up and attended school in West Palm Beach graduating from Forest Hill High School.

Skip was a veteran of the Viet Nam War serving in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge he returned to the West Palm Beach area where he worked in construction for some time, then became a certified welder.

He later met Allyson Meadows and they were later married in 2016 but together for 24 years and were blessed with two daughters. They moved to the Wann, OK area where they have resided for 11 years

Skip place his faith in Jesus, and enjoyed sharing his testimony.

His passion was working on cars and racing drag cars with Cliff Evans, Jr. He was very active in street racing and very involved in the Coffeyville Street Drags. Skip loved spending time talking on his CB radio with people as far away as Australia. He was very particular about how he kept and moved his yard, making sure anyone helping knew the correct way it needed to be mowed. But his greatest love was spending time with his wife and daughters, and was anxiously awaiting the arrive of his twin grandsons later this month.

Survivors include his wife, Allyson of the home; two daughters, Kaylee Paige Moor of South Coffeyville, OK and Elizabeth Ann Moore of the home; two sisters, Jean Hazzard of Beacon Hill, TN and Kathy Brown of Morganton, NC; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and soon to be twin grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 12,, 2018 at LifePoint Church, 502 E. 6th St., in Coffeyville with Pastor Judy Mustain officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK.
