Obituary of Mary Carroll
Mary Ann Carroll, 78, of Coffeyville passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Windsor Place.
She was born on April 19, 1939 at Coffeyville to Richard and Nona (Robinson) Stroud. Mary grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School, and attended Coffeyville Community College.
Mary was a private home healthcare provider for many years, a tyer for Old Parker Tackle Co., she was also the first female Assistant Manager at the Coffeyville American Legion working her way up from Bartender, and over the years frequently assisted Marjorie Bowser in multiple businesses, and homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Marysa and husband Marc Stenzel of Wichita, KS, and Tatum Carroll also of Wichita; four sons, Richard Devin Rushing and wife Pam of Bedford, TX, Stuart Austin Stroud of Austin, TX, Donovan Carroll Coffeyville, and Tyler Stroud also of Coffeyville; and four grandsons Ryan, Aaron, Ethan and Deaglan; a nephew Bobby Eli and wife Ann, their children (great nephew and great nieces) Bradley, Savannah, Melissa of Sorreisa, Norway, and Tabitha Poppaw of Crawfordsville, IN, a niece Tracy Kennedy and children (great nephew and great nieces) Ashley Beauchamp, Thomas Kennedy, both of Coffeyville, Holly Williams and husband Coyl, and daughter Freya, of Augusta, KS
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Nona Stroud; one son, Chad Stroud; and her sister, Alvia M. Eli.
Mary was an lifelong avid reader, and thoroughly enjoyed the Coffeyville Public Library. So much that at the time of her passing, four days before her 79th birthday. Her Coffeyville Public Library card was still valid. She read literature in as much as the way other people watch television. She also enjoyed quilting, crochet, and spending time with family and friends. Mary persevered through over 12 years of dialysis, where she made many friends. And proudly participated in the American Cancer Society "Relay For Life" annually.
Following Mary's wishes cremation has taken place and no service is planned at this time.
